Up to this point in my life, I had never asked someone out on a date. Previous relationships, including the best I had ever experienced, just happened organically. It didn’t feel forced or contrived. So when approached with formal dating and courtship, I had no reference to fall back on save for what I thought everyone else did. I struggled with the added dimension of courting a family member of a coworker.
It felt inappropriate.
It did not deter me from trying. My own doubts and fears were the only things in my way. Also, my Jason’s Deli crush, Josephine.
