Historically, I’ve found it difficult to justify non-essential expenditures.

Did I need the best gaming machine? Did I need to buy a new vehicle? Did I need a more modern, upscale apartment that costs more but has less square footage?

As good of a custodian with my finances and space as I was, I was never good at treating myself without feeling guilty. Everything had to be earned. Everything had to be essential. As time progress and I aged, this rigidity relaxed. Before it did, I justified like I did in this verse.
